Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican American sportscaster. She currently works for ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. She began her career at ESPN in the year of 2016. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a TV reporter. Antonietta Collins was bi-lingual since nine years old a useful skill that helped her secure her first position in the production department at Univision in Miami which allowed her to be a part of the production team for national shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Her next assignment was a Sports Reporter at CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009, she relocated to Texas to Rio Grande Valley where she became a news correspondent on KNVO TV 48 Univision. In reporting on news stories about drug trafficking and immigration across the border of Mexico and Texas. Border, she worked as a news reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 from 5pm, then a news reporter in English for 9 pm, the news anchor was on until 10pm before returning on the Spanish channel. The station also frequently asked her to fill in as an anchor for weather and sports. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. She was also given more duties. She was a reporter for events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and NBA Postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. Aside from this she was also the host and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She worked as anchor for the sports segment of Despierta America Deportes morning show. She served in similar roles on the magazine program of the network Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. She was born November 22, 1985, in Mexico City. She's more mature than her younger sister. The family moved into Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. Soon after, her parents separated and, in 1995 Fabio Fajardo was remarried. He passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. In the summer of the year 2006, Antonietta spent one week with her sibling in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed at the time. Antonietta was the senior of her high school, but she had a very clear vision of what she wanted to do in her future career. She visited Mount Union University in order to determine if they suited her. The campus was a dream for her. The university also provided her with the program she was interested in. After graduation, she went to the university with a media studies major. Mark Bergmann - her professor and director of WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. His passion for journalism and her self-confidence instilled confidence in her. In turn, she, tried to meet the standards he set and to not fail him.
